I think the compression is a bit too much though.

I have my pc set at really high resolution.. I will check at lower reso's and adjust it

Great capture. I've been shooting insects on Queen Anns Lace and other flowers but I have a hard time getting them to face me.

I think it's a great photo. The sharpening looks a little soft. Did you use the method you posted a little while ago? the results here don't look as good as the sample you had. Maybe it's because you removed the noise. A bit of a trade off I suspect.

The image feels like it needs to be turne 90 degrees clockwise and given more air in the green area. My personal feeling is when a subject is something that can fly, then the composition needs more room. Not a hard and fast rule though.

when I post this on another site it will be higher res and turned 90 degrees.. only because you and my wife agree I posted this as it was naturally placed on the flower/ weed thingee.. but you are right it would look better horizontal and with more space
