hey basil.... I honestly don't know how cams do that take a close up nice and clear and the background is blurred I got my self a new cam too ...and see this... some shots its pretty cool....any hoot...but I like your smaller version the larger version is too dusty/blurry around the beetles.
I do say the beetle shot is awesomeness... I'm sure on this site one of a kind

a dirty Canon EOS digital rebel with a kit lense and a frankenstiened sigma macro lense (crossed with a vivitar macro lense lol.. I like to take things apart!!!
